1931-1969
 

Samuel Taksa

 

T. was born in 1907 in Rovno, Volin.

His father was an employee.

He learned in a cheder, then in a gymnasium. He was a director of amateur dramatic circles.

In 1918 he entered into Shlomo Hershkovitsh's artistic troupe as a prompter, and he migrated with the troupe across Volin until 1922, when he was also occupied from time to time with administrative matters for the troupe.

At the end of 1922 he left for the Ukraine and in 1923 became a prompter in Kiev's "Kunst-vinkl", later also assistant director.

From 1927-30 he was assistant director in the Alukrainian? State Theatre, and from 1930 is the administrator of the same theatre.
