Shlomo Luftig


L. was born in 1880 in Khshanov (Chrzanów), Galicia. From his early youth he acted in Yiddish theatre in Galicia as a chorus singer and actor.

According to Jacob Mestel, who came to act with L. in Czernowitz and other provincial cities, L. was born early in 1880. He was [pu...] funds were very meager, with a [knokhik-] face and a hard voice, and he gave the impression of someone with a lung sickness. He didn't have a great deal of talent, but he was very serious and [began his appointment = genumen zeyn baruf] and always clean and prepared to act in his roles.

In 19... L. passed away in Galicia.
