L. was born in 1900 in Odessa, Ukraine.

Already at the age of ten or eleven he made a "tsurik-kuntsn".

After finishing the gymnasium, entering into the Polytechnium Institute, participating in various "evenings". He learned in the Russian dramatic studio of Lorenzo and afterwards finished the Russian drama school.

In 1920 he entered into the Russian theatre "Krasni Fakl", 1921-23 -- he was active in the Russian theatre "Masadram", in 1923 -- on the way to America -- he acted for two years in Yiddish in Havana (Cuba).

Since 1925 -- in Eretz Yisrael, where he participated at first in "Hiatrun Evri", afterwards "Tiatrun amnut", then "Hiatrun lumi", and afterwards in the small-art stages "Kumkum" and "Hmtata".
