Berta Latovitsh
(Beyla Gurevitsh)
 

 

L. was born in 1890 in Yekaterinoslav, Ukraine.

She is the sister of the actress Miriam Gurevitsh.

She completed a folkshul.

In 1907 she entered as a chorus girl for Leyzer Bernstein in Lublin.

In 1909 she acted in roles with Lanzman in Kalisz, then with Sabsey in Vilna and in 1911 with Sam Adler, where she acted for three years.

In 1914 she was a prima donna with Rothstein, then with Krause in Odessa, later in Turkey and Rumania and again in Russia, acting as a soubrette with Fishzon and in various other troupes.

In 1921, together with her husband, Itzhak Latovitsh, she came to Poland, where she has acted since then in various troupes.
