B. was born on 12 June 1906 in Bucharest, Rumania.

Her parents were Yiddish actors.

As a five-year old child she began to act in a members troupe in Antwerp, and three years later at the Pavilion Theatre in London with Moshkovitsh.

At the age of sixteen she acted for the first time as "Tsila" in Gordin's "Kreutzer Sonata" together with Lobel in London.

From 1922 to 1926 she acted in Paris in her first soubrette roles and young dramatic roles.

B. both alone and together with her father sang many Yiddish songs for the gramophone.

In 1927 she had, due to her marriage to a medical doctor, retired from the stage, but in 1928 she acted again in Joseph Kessler's troupe in Paris.
