"KINDER ON A HEYM (CHILDREN WITHOUT A HOME)"
by Louis Freiman; music by Ilya Trilling

The aforementioned play was first staged at Brooklyn's Hopkinson Theatre (Oscar Green, manager) on October 9, 1943. Here is a cast photo from the play, which was taken by the Ivan Busatt photo studio of New York City. Most of the people in this photograph have been identified (as best I could) and are listed below, from left to right:

Back row: Eli Mintz, Abe Dorf, Max Friedlander, Itzik Feld, Julius Adler, Isaac Arco, Simon Wolf, Clara Gold, Anne Winters and Oscar Green.
Middle row: Flora Freiman, Henrietta Jacobson, Max Kletter ("star" of the production), Louis Freiman, Berta Gerstin, Anna Toback and Lola Spielman (Feld).
Front row: two girls whom I can't identify.

Others probably in the cast are: Bennie Binder, Barbara Lorber, Bessie Pozner, Anita Stein and Max Wilner.

Perhaps the two girls in the front are either Barbara, Bessie or Anita listed above. If anyone knows, please contact me at steve@museumoffamilyhistory.com.

According to an article in the the Brooklyn Daily Eagle newspaper (November 11, 1943), this play was based on Louis Freiman's current radio feature of the same name.

The play "tells a thrilling, human story of twin sisters, who as a result of the war turmoil and the treachery of their mother's old love rival, become 'living orphans.'
The unfortunate family is separated and harassed by the scheming of a bitter, jealous woman, until fate takes a hand and finally rights a great wrong."
