ANNA KAMELEFSKY

nee Burak

cir early 1950s

Anna (sitting in front, left) was born in Kolno, Russia in 1882. She was the child of Juszk Gerszk (Yehuda) Burak and his first wife, name unknown. Presumably, his first wife passed away, for he subsequently remarried, having several more children with his second wife. One of these children was Anna's half-sister Edith, as well as several more brothers and sisters. Anna emigrated as Chana Chemilewski, having arrived at Ellis Island in July 1919. Awaiting her in the U.S. was her husband Lazer (Louis), whom she had already married in Poland, he having previously immigrated to the United States. Anna passed away in 1955, eight years after her husband.
