Rosetta Yeger
(Faget)

Y. was born on 28 March 1896 in Warsaw, Poland. Her grandfather was the Warsaw marshal Shlomo Faget. Her father was a decorator. She learned in school and cheder. As a child she acted with "amateurs" in 1906 in Warsaw's Muranow Theatre. In 1911 she came with her family to America and became a member of the "Fraye yidishe folks-bine."

In 1915 she was engaged as a young dramatist in Montreal's Monument National Theatre (Director -- Benny Adler.) In 1915-16 she acted in Toronto's Lyric Theatre. In 1918-19 she was in Baltimore and throughout the province. In 1925 she married actor and manager Sol Dickstein and went together with him across the province. In 1929 she was in Philadelphia's [non-union] Gibson Theatre, in 1930-31 in Sol Dickstein's Folks Theatre in Philadelphia, in 1931 in Dickstein's Folks Theatre, in New York's Liberty (Theatre) and in 1932 in the Amphion Theatre.

Y. is a member in the Independent Hebrew Actors League.

Y.'s daughter Paulina also acts on the Yiddish stage.
