Zlata Yaroslavska

 

Y. was born in Vilna, Polish Lithuania. He was raised by the theatre director Nahum and the actress Esther Lipovski.

In 1914 she began to act in children's roles with the American actors Charles Nathanson, Leopold Kaner et al, who guest-starred with Lipovski in Vilna, during the World War she was with the Lipovski family in Harbin, Siberia, Kharkov, Odessa and other cities, where she already had acted in soubrette roles.

After her marriage in Kovno she transferred out of acting on the stage for three years.

In 1923 she again began to act in Vilna's Folks-teater (People's Theatre), then in Lemberg, Krakow, Lublin and other cities in Poland.

In 1928 she settled in Kovno, where she acted in the local Yiddish theatre.
