Ester Vaksman
 

 

She was born on 25 July 1874 in Lodz, Poland.

Sister of Moshe David Vaksman and Fannie Vaksman-Blumental.

In 1900 she came to America together with her husband, the portrait artist Rotblat, and she acted in New York, Philadelphia and in the provinces, at first as a prima donna in operettas, afterwards in dramatic roles, grand-dames and mother roles.

V. was recognized by the critics as a talented actress.

On 15 October 1924 V. passed away and came to her eternal rest at Cypress Hills Abbey in Philadelphia.
