Itzhak Nuger
 

 

Born in 1886 in Zhitomir, Ukraine to religious parents. Already as a child he displayed an inclination to the theatre, excelling in school in the children's productions. He also then participated in various dramatic sections.

Later he went away to London and in 1908 became a business manager for the English dramatic company of Laurence Irving.

In 1913 he settled in Argentina, where he directed the Olympia Theatre together with Morris Moshkovitsh. Later he stood at the top of the Theatre Excelsior in Buenos Aires. In 1931 he took over the Nuevo Theatre, landed Jacob Ben-Ami and Jacob Mestel as guests, and in 1932 again became business manager for the Excelsior.
