Ike Mitnick
 

 

M. was born on 9 January 1890 in Boston, America.

His father was the founder of the Yiddish theatre in Montreal, the actor Leiser Mitnick.

He completed public school and then learned at home.

As a child he participated in children's roles. When his father had taken over the Yiddish theatre in Montreal, M. had in the beginning helped him in the ticket office, later in the management of the theatre, and since his father's passing in 1915 he has become the manager of the Yiddish troupe in Montreal, where he has for eight years directed a permanent Yiddish theatre.
