Zalmen (Kroynshtat) Kroyn


K. was born in 189... in Kishinev, Bessarabia.

An actor and prompter.

He died from typhus in the Evacuation during the Second World War.

According to Julian Schwartz  --- in 1942 in Samarkand.

According to Khayele Asch -- in 1943.

The musician Yankl Herman, who had acted with him in the Yiddish State Theatre in Rumania said about him:

"K. had acted in Doria Nikodem's "Skamfola", in the role of professor, and he had a duet (music for son-Poliatkov) with Sidi Thal. He also had portrayed [lyrysh], older men, especially grandfathers.

In the [frimorgn], which the poet and regisseur Jacob Sternberg had arranged, with the Sidi Thal troupe in Bucharest in 1939-40, K. had acted in an interesting [aufn] "Pan milinevski" in Sholem Aleichem's skit "Tsvey shlkh-mnutn". [Mikon] says, that he had [mimish mer vi mit reyd] brought out the type"(?)
