Bessie Gudman
 

 

Born in 1885 in Dibne, Ukraine.

Her father was a model draftsman, who immigrated with his family to America, where G. completed public and high school and an English dramatic school.

In 1904 G. performed for the first time with "amateurs"  as "Yehudit" in "Akosta".

Jacob Silbert saw her act and engaged her for his troupe in Boston. Afterwards G. acted in various provincial cities, and after she married Itzhak Zolotarevsky --her husband's troupes.

Due to an illness, since 1914 G. has withdrawn from the stage.
