1931-1969
 

Viktor Golovtshiner

 

G. was born on 28 June 1905 in Minsk, White Russia.

His father was a Hebrew teacher. His mother was a music teacher.

He completed a five-class gymnasium for theatre arts in Moscow.

As a student of thirteen, G. participated in the school and club productions in Russia and White Russia.

In 1922 he performed in the Yiddish studio of White Russia. In 1926 he came with the studio to Minsk, and was an actor and regisseur with "Vim"t".

G. composed several plays, of which the play "Tsvishn durut" was staged by "Vim"t".

He also wrote "Di geshikhte fun VIM"T (The History of Vim"t)", for [vorbukh] "Yiddish Theatre".
