Yosef Ettinger
 

E. was born on 16 October 1883 in Botashan, Romania.

He completed a school, afterwards performing in his parent's business.

In 1903 he became known to the actress Sara Glickman, and after his marriage to her, he became a prompter, also tried acting, and later became director of various troupes in Rumania, Austria, Poland and Russia, in which Morris Moshkovitch, Dina Feinman, Celia Adler, Clara Young et al guest-starred.

In 1927 he was in Paris as a stage director in Berger's troupe.

Since 1928 he again co-directed for an itinerant troupe across Rumania.
