Larissa Edelman
 

E. was born on 16 June 1906 in Odessa, Ukraine.

Her father was a representative of the Petersburg [futilaver] plant.

She finished eight classes in the stage gymnasium, afterwards studying in the University, where she participated in the student productions.

She performed in a conservatory, acting at the same time as an artist in the Russian State Theatre "Der royter fakl".

In 1927-28 she acted in the Ukrainian Yiddish State Theatre and later performed as a prima donna in a Yiddish vocalization(?) ensemble with "Gezkult".

She also participated in episodic roles in various films.

E.'s brother, Israel, acts in the Moscow Yiddish State Theatre.
