Manya Chizhik
(Firshtenfeld)

Born in 1883 in Czestochowa, Poland.

Her father was the owner of a bar in a hotel that actors used to frequent.

A Yiddish troupe had stayed there, and the actor Emanuel Chizhik took Manya away with him, with her parents' knowledge, and until her marriage to him she had ascended onto the stage.

Manya had, until the war, worked on the same stage as her husband.

Since 1914, she has played in London.
