Diana Blumenfeld-Turkow

 

She was born in 1903 in Warsaw, Poland.

She finished a middle school and pedagogical courses, and she was a teacher in several schools. In 1921 she learned for a year in a conservatory and then the Polish dramatic school of Khrinivietska.

In 1924 she finished the school, and performed in Esther Rachel Kaminska's troupe in Vilna. At the end of the same year she acted in Warsaw's Central Theatre. Then B. became one of the first members of "Vikt", and went with the group on the tour across Poland.

In 1925 she acted in the troupe of her husband Jonas Turkow, 1926-7 in the "Krakow Yiddish Dramatic Theatre", 1928-9 again touring with her husband's troupe, and she participated in the motion picture "Di poylishe velder (The Polish Forests)" by Opatoshu.
