1931-1967
 

Frances Adler

 

A. was born in New York, America. 

She was the oldest daughter of Sarah and Jacob P. She graduated  from high school and the  “Sergeant Belasco School Of Art”. When she was twelve, A. appeared with her father at the Grand Theatre where she played “Olya” in Gordin’s “True Power”. Starting then, A. played in New York with her parents, Kessler, Mogulesko and Kalich.

In 1921 she acted together with her parents and Isidore Bozet[?] in London, then several seasons in grand-opera houses in the west of London, and at Glickman’s in Chicago. Then she toured South America for half a year with her husband, Joseph Shoengold. In 1927 she played for a short time in the English repertory theatre in Boston. In 1928 she appeared in Yiddish at the Casino Theatre in Philadelphia for a few months. From 1929-30 she performed at Satz’s Folks Theatre.
