The Bar Mitzvah

A Coming of Age

William Weisbart at his bar mitzvah ceremony in New York, 1904

William Weisbart was born Abram Wolf Natan on March 18, 1891 in Lodz, Poland. His parents were Haskel Josef Natan and Mariam (nee Zysman.) Sometime before coming to the United States, their names were changed; Haskel Josef Natan became Nathan Joseph Weisbart and Mariam became Mary Weisbart.

Sadly, their son William died during the 1918 Influenza epidemic.
