YEHUDA BEKENSTEIN AND HIS FAMILY
Volkovysk, Belarus
cir 1900-1920

The man in the above photograph is believed to be Yehudah Bekenstein, his wife, and his daughter, name unknown, who emigrated to Argentina. The daughter was married to a schochet, and was still alive in the early 1950s. Based on the birth dates of the other siblings, who came to New York, this photo was probably taken between 1900 and 1920. The family was from the small shtetl of Wolpa, and the photo was taken in a studio in Volkovysk.
