THE ARENBERG FAMILY
Samarkand, Uzbekistan
1937

Sitting, left to right: Molik, a family friend, Valia, Zhenia, Tamara (a family friend), Fira, Anna and the baby Lana.
Standing, left to right: Yura (a family friend, husband to Tamara), and Shura.

Valia with her daughter visited her father in the winter of 1937. This is a peaceful pre-war gathering of family members and friends at Moisei's house (the "house" was a big room in a "kommunalka" where Moisei lived with the wife and two sons.)
