Kiev, Ukraine
cir 1900
photo studio:
Wladimir Wysocki

"Lisbeth Hurwitz and Ferdinand Fromhold were my maternal grandparents. He was born in 1873 in Riga and was killed in the course of the Russian Revolution in 1918.  She was born in  1880, in Konigsberg. The photo was taken in approx 1900 on the occasion of their engagement.  Lisbeth fled from Russia to Germany and died in Berlin in 1934. The lady on the right is Lisbeth's sister, Greta.

Greta married and had a family and remained in Russia. They were known to be alive in 1939, but all trace was lost thereafter. The Fromhold's were prosperous leather factors, originally based in Riga, and later in St Petersburg. ."
