ADOLPH KOPEKIN
WATCHMAKER & JEWELER

Chicago, Illinois

cir 1884-1886

Adolph Kopekin, single, came to the United States in the 1880s and opened a shop in Chicago. However, he was not happy in Chicago and returned to Vienna, then part of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire, where he again opened shop.  There he received several European patents. He then met his future wife, got married, and had three daughters.  He returned to New York City and subsequently brought his wife and three daughters over.  Most of his working life was spent in New York City as a watchmaker for the Swiss firm Longines-Whitnauer.
